THE CHOWAN HEEALP, EDENTON, NORTH CAROLINA, THUBSPAT, KPVlßtt|| )*, IMS.
TO THE CITIZENS OF EDENTON
AND CHOWAN COUNTY:
Recently, the only bank in Eden ton filed an application to estab
lish a third banking office in the city claiming they needed the addi
tional office to properly serve the area. They have done this even
though they have blocked the establishment of an office of our bank
in Edenton with a Federal Court suit and an injunction wherein they
claimed no additional offices are needed to serve the needs and pro
mote the convenience of the people.
We believe in fairness and honesty. We do not believe you can say
one thing out of one side of your mouth and the contrary out of the
other side of your mouth and still be fair and honest. We further be

Edenton and we in turn, would not interfere with their request for
their third office. We received a flat “NO” together with a statement

The wheels of justice sometimes turn slowly but in the end, jus
tice will prevail. We are anxious to serve Edenton and Chowan
County... sooner or later, we believe, we will be permitted to do so.
