Belk Employees Take Training A supervisory develop ment training program for Belk-Tyler employees be gan Tuesday night at Edenton Chamber of Com merce. Sixteen employees from Edenton, Plymouth and Ahoskie are enrolled in the 45-hour course, being taught by College of the Albemarle. Ray Jones is the instructor. The course is divided in to two sections, Effective Communication and Prin ciples of Supervision. The classes are being held each Tuesday night from 7 to 10 o’clock. Party Honors Mrs. Pruden Mrs. E. J. Pruden, Sr., was entertained by Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Pruden, Jr., at their home at Merry Hill Sunday afternoon in honor of her 67th birthday. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. E J. Pruden, Jr., and children, Ellen, Ed mund and Ellen, Mrs. D. A. Byrd, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Barfield and children, Ma rilyn, Marsha and Randy, Mrs. Virgie Baker and Mrs. Kate Johnson. Mrs. Hazel Keeter and Christine Harris will de part for a trip to England this week to visit Mrs. Keeter’s son and family. Wilbur Ray Wheeler is home for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Saunders went on a trip to New Orleans, La., given by his insurance company. CLASS REUNION The senior class of 1942 of Chowan High School celebrated its 25th anni versary Saturday night at 7 o’clock at Chowan High School cafeteria. It was an enjoyable evening. The Oak Grove Club served a fried chicken supper with all the trim mings. Mrs. Virginia War ren, class president, was mistress of ceremonies. C. H. Davis and Helen had a big part in planning and other members of the class who entertained were Miss Belinda Perry at the organ, record music and Mrs. Jerry Evans in costume with a skit. Mr. Snipes took the group on a tour of the school after which punch and goodies were served in the cafeteria.
