Miss Vernetta Wood Barnes presented a combination of ballet and creative modem dance. Miss Barnes was re splendent on the arm of her escort, young Edward Henderson of Lewiston. Mrs. Barnes watched very proudly as one of the sor ors, Mrs. Willie B. Daw son, placed the rhinestone studded crown on the smil ing queen’s head. Mrs. Barnes wishes to thank all patrons, sponsors, business establishments and friends of both races who contributed in any way to ward her daughter’s over whelming success. She states further her proud ness of the recognition given, which is none other than a cultural pattern of her neighbors, her com munity and her many friends out of town. And to those who did not con eribute, thanks for their regard, as it took all of that for her to win. She came out more than vic torious and was crowned Zeta Phi Beta’s 1968 Queen.
