Dillard Given Prison Sentence Seven cases were heard in Chowan County District Court Tuesday morning with Judge W. S. Privott presiding. J udge Privott found George Washington Dillard guilty of assaulting a fe male. Dillard was sentenc ed to 12 months in prison. Acting Solicitor Thomas Watts of Elizabeth City called for judgment in a case heard in August on the same charge. Dillard was sentenced to 12 months, Drive Is Aided By NCO Club The NCO Club, one cf Chowan County’s newest organizations, has contri buted SSO to a worthwhile community funds cam paign—the March of Dimes. The club voted recently to contribute to the drive headed locally by Dr. A. F. Downum, Jr. Henry Allen Powell is president of the NCO Club, formed within the Eden to n National Guard Unit. : Edenton Jaycees sponsor the March of Dimes drive in Chowan County each year. Nixon, 27, son of Mrs. Jean ette Roulac, 116 East Car teret Street, Edenton, N. C., received the Air Medal March 3, in Vietnam. Capt. Nixon was present ed the award for combat aerial support of ground operations in Vietnam. Overseas since July, 1967, he is a chemical advisor as signed to Advisory Team 95, which is advising a Vietnamese Army unit. Capt. Nixon received his commission through the Re serve Officers’ Training Corps program at Hampton (Va.) Institute, where he was graduated in 1962 with a B. S. degree.
