An associational vacation Bible School clinic was held Wednesday at Black well Memorial Baptist Church in Elizabeth City from 9:30 A. M. to 2:30 P. M. An associational Youth Night for intermediates and young people will be held Saturday night, April 13, at Hertford Baptist Church at 7 o’clock. The annual associational WMU meeting will be held at Coinjock Baptist Church on April 16, beginning at 10 A. M. Don’t forget to register if you expect to vote. You can register until April 20. Willie Charlton Now In Service Sgt. Clyde Short. Air Force recruiter for the Edenton area, announced that Willie Edward Charl ton, .son of James E. Charlton, 111 East Carteret Street, enlisted in the U. S. Air Force today. He will receive basic training at Lackland' AFB, Texas. He is a graduate of St. Emma High School. Basic training, said Sgt. Short, who maintains an office at Ahoskie every Friday from 10.30 A. M. to 2:30 P. M., will be follow ed by formal technical training school or a direct duty assignment. Follow ing the training phase, he will be eligible for service overseas and throughout the United States. Church Bonds To Be Available Rev. Russell Rice, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church, announces the church’s future plans. Beginning Monday, April 15, the church will launch .a bond issue program for ■ft HARRIETT BARROW Honor Is Voted To Miss Barrow Harriett Barrow, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barrow, 823 Cabarrus Street, has been chosen by Eden ton Jaycettes as Teen- Ager of the Month. She was a homeroom of ficer in Junior High School and played on the basket ball team. At John A. Holmes High School, the outstanding young woman is a member cf the Glee Club, Student Council, Future Homemak ers of America, Spotlight staff and graduation com mittee. She participated in the county typewriting contest. Miss Barrow is a mem ber of Edenton Baptist Church, where she sings in the choir. She is president of the YMA. Immanuel Baptist Church was founded with a hand ful of people in May, 1962, and has seen a growth f'-um that handful toe to tal growth of over 180 en rollment, with the average Sunday School attendance during 1967 of 126.
