It is con venient for the fanner and also has resulted in a sub- j stantial savings in the op-! erection of ASCS programs. | County offices give farm-' srs as much assistance as j possible to help assure thatl the acreages reported are | correct. Farmers are fur- j nished photocopies of their; farms which give the acre ages in each field. AStCS personnel will also assist farmers in making compu tations from measurements the farmers have made. Farmers may also obtain official measurement ser. vices from ASC)S Ibis service must be requested and paid for by the farm er. Two types of measure ment services are available. Premeasurement, which has been available over the years, is still available. In addition, a farmer may get Jiis acreage measured after planting is completed but before he certifies. Agricultural Conservation Program Requests are being ac cepted in the county office for federal cost-share as sistance to help farmers carry out a needed con servation practice. Look over your needs and make an application before the practice is started. : Below is a list of some of the practices available and the cost-share rates: ■ A-2 permanent pasture, up to $23.44 per acre. ’ B-7 farm ponds, .08 cubic yard. C-9 open ditch drainage, 110 cubic yard. - C-10 tile drainage, .18 lineal foot. - D-l * winter cover crop, $2.00 per adre. f If your farm would bene fit from the use of one of these practices, file your written request now.
