Ii yoft’ve 'had' a despairing winter, now’s the time to rejoice. I’m glad I live in a place where the seasons change, so that spring is ever a new and exciting time of year. This is the time, too, to say “Thanks” for the many cards and messages sent to me the last three months. Each card received brought p tear of happiness and gratefulness for so many good wishes and prayers. I’m sure that is the big gest reason I have been able to recuperate so well. I realize, too, that I may have been negligent in con veying my thanks for the lovely flowers. However, in time I’ll catch up with myself. For a while I’m just going to enjoy feeling well again. Edna Barnhill (Mrs. J. D.) who recently moved to Winston-Salem, sent me a small book recently of se lections of Nature Thoughts which includes so many thoughts and poems by fa mous people. As I read each one, I wish so much that I could express my thoughts and dreams such as these people write. How ever, I enjoy reading them just as much as Edna knew I would. Here’s a recipe which Edna sent to me and It sounds delicious, especially for those of you who like | garlic as I do: Garlic Grits Cook one cup grits as per directions on box. Add one stick of oleo and one roll garlic cheese. Melt these in hot grits. Break two eggs in a cup and stir slightly. Finish filling cup with milk. Mix into grits mixture and place in cas serole.
