Mr. Goodwin, a retired farmer, was a native of Chowan County. He was a son of the late Jasper S. and Nannie Simpson Good win. He was married to: Mrs. Jennie Parker Good win, who preceded him in death, Surviving are two sons: Rupert H. Goodwin of Elizabeth City and W. P. Goodwin of Edenton; one daughter, Mrs. W. H. Wells of Edenton; one sister, Mrs. Lewis Goodwin of Cedar Island; eight grandchildren i and three great grandchild ren. He was a member of Yeopim Baptist Church Graveside services were held at 11 A M. Tuesday at Beaver Hill Cemetery with Rev. Rick Brewer in charge.
