M., in much disarray They’re out of school with a loud hurray. 1 sure wiah I had the time to just sit and watch the children go by on their way to school each morning. There’s so many variations in dress, looks and general attitudes, leav ing much to the imagina tion of the onlooker. Some speed by on their bicycles, while others travel in two’s and three’s, giggling (if they’re girls) and dar ing if they’re boys. Once in a while you see a “lon er,” who has either missed his breakfast, or who didn’t want to go to school in the first place. Then after school it's another story. Most all of them are in another sort of a hurry—to get away, noisy and carefree for the mo ment Once in a while there’s a “free for all,” which almost takes a ref eree, but even that is soon forgotten. Here's a good recipe for delicious Peanut Butter Cookies, but NO flour is used: Use one-half cup each of Peanut Butter, shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, ft teaspoon baking powder and one egg. Cream sugars, shortening and Pea nut Butter. Add baking powder and egg. Drop by level tablespoons, two inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees until edges brown (about 12 minutes). Cool for about two minutes be fore removing from pans. Makes from two to two and one-half dozen cookies.
