Parent-Tether Plans Are Made The initial meeting of th* John A. Ho'mes High School Parent-Tea her As sociation will be held Tues day at 8 P. M. in the school auditorium. A good pro gram is planned for par ents of students in grades seven through 12 at the school. Also, a meeting of par ents of children attending grades one through three at Walker School and P-ades four through six at Swain School met Tuesday night and decided to organize a P.-T.A. A large crowd at tended. It’s time to be thinking about cake baking, especi ally applesauce cake, which is delicious made by the following recipe, given to me by Buff s niece who is visiting us; 2 cups f lour, sifted to gether with 1 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. cloves. 1 tsp. cinnamon. ‘r tsp. salt. 1 4 cups granulated sugar. 4 cup shortening. 2 cups applesauce. 2 eggs. 2 cups raisins (cooked and drained). Cream sugar and short ening, add eggs (well beat en), and applesauce, then dry ingredients mixed with raisins. Bake at 350 de grees for 45 minutes.
