VAOI TWO—A BROAD STREET BULLETIN —by KATE I like the old, old custom Os sending Valentine greetings; It brings your old friends closer, In fact, it’s like a meeting. So let them know they’re on your mind And send them each a Valentine. As I sometimes do, I procrastinated this week until the last minute on this little bit, and devel oped a severe headache, so it’s somewhat of an effort to even open my eyes, much less think what to write. Someone suggested that the best thing to do with “old plugs,” when they got out of whack was to shoot them, and I must agree. All you Methodists— there’ll be a fellowship supper at the Methodist Church this coming Sun day night, with each one bringing food. It will be gin at 6:30, so bring your family and join the fellow ship and fun of being to gether. There'll also be a pan cake supper at the Epis copal Church this coming Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday at the hours .between 6 and 7:30. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the food and fellow ship there, too. As usual, when one gets too “uppity," we’re bound to get a take down “a peg or two.” So it was with me last week. I was feel ing pretty good when a very nice lady asked me if I wasn’t Mrs. Bufflap. I said I was and asked her how she knew and she told me she recognized me from my picture in The Chowan Herald. Personal ly, I think the picture is terrible. It actually came from a passport picture— but anyhow—it’s how oth ers see us. for someone war you LOVE... w 13li6A£CC, Steves CANDIES 1 lb. box $1.85 2 ib. box a.60 RED FOIL HEARTS onorted chocolotet 1 lb. $2.35 chocolotes butter 1 % taar red FO,L HEARTS ehoeototEE and butter boot 5V4 oz. 95# 8 oz. $1.35 VALENTINE’S DAY IS FRIDAY.
