Matters of interest will be discussed at this meeting. Mrs. Phillips’ Father Buried Funeral services were held Monday for John Henry Burnett, 80, of Burgaw. He was the father of Mrs. C. A. Phillips of Edenton. The services were held at the Burgaw Methodist Church and burial was in Burgaw Cemetery. Mr. Burnett, a former state legislator, retired in. 1057 after 25 years with the U. S. Treasury Depart ment, having been the senior estate tax officer in North Carolina for a num ber of years. He was a graduate of Wake Forest Law School In addition to Mrs. Phil lips, he is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Dea ton; five other daughters: Mrs. E. B. Collins of High Point, Mrs. W. D. Jones, Jr., and Mrs. William H. Quaintance of Raleigh; Mrs. Randolph Crippen of Weston, Conn., and Miss Phyllis Burnett of the home; two sons: Gilbert Burnett of Wilmington, and Julian Burnett of Herndon, Va.; two sisters, two brothers and 23 grand children. Pictured are students in the three grades she instructs at Swain school. James Hassell Heads 4-H Club The S. N. Griffith Com munity 4-H Club met at the St. John 4-H Commun ity Center March 10. At this meeting new officers for the year were elected. They are: . President, James Hassell; vice presi dent, Clifford Nowell; sec retary - treasurer, Barbara Cobbs; reporter, Thomas Fleming; song leader, Gar nett Nowell; recreation committee: Larry Fleming, chairman, Jerome Harrell and Larry Nowell. OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that the Edenton Town Council will hold a public hearing re garding the re-enactment of the zoning ordin ance for the Town of Edenton. The hearing will be held at 8 P. M., April 3, 1969, in the Municipal Building. This ordinance in part carries forward by re-enactment some of the provisions of the existing Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Edenton and it is not the intention to repeal but rather to re-enact and continue in force such existing provisions so that all rights and liabilities that have accrued thereunder are preserved and may be enforced. The re-enacted ordinance has been adopted by the Edenton Planning Board and has been recommended by that body to the Edenton Town Council Copies of the ordinance and the accompany ing maps are available at the Town Hall.
