Local Entrants Named Winners In the history essay con- j test sponsored by the Na tional Society of the DAR. Edenton Tea Party .Chap ter had district and state winners. Becky Harrell, a fifth grade student at Coowan J High School, won district honors for her grade level. Joyce Hollowell, a student at Hertford Grammar School, won district hon ors for grade seven. Their papers were sent on to the state contest, where Becky's paper was state winner in the fifth grade. The Tea Party Chapter is quite proud of having sponsored these essays. For the program, Mrs. Helen Peele introduced Miss Thelma Elliott of Hertford, who spoke on the subject ’‘Values We Hold— Civic Responsibilities.” A buffet luncheon was served to the 54 members attending. Mrs. Milah Meekins gave the invocation.
