Department Heads Join Chowan Hospital Staff Kyle McCall of Elizabeth iCity and Frank Pearce of I Goldsboro have recently j joined the staff of Chowan Hospital as department heads, according to Thomas Surratt, administrator. McCall is head of food service and supply and Pearce is chief in the lab. Surratt said he is pleas ed to have these two well | qualified men become asso | dated with the local medi cal facility. McCall recently retired from the U. S. Coast Guard after serving for 21 years. At the time of his retire ment he was chief commis sary man at the Elizabeth City base. He is a gradu ate of the advanced com missary school in Newport, Williams Joins Navy Exercise USS WILTSIE at Sea- Seaman Apprentice Calvin M. Williams, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joel C. Wil liams, Jr., Route 2, Cape Colony, Edenton, N. C., participated in Operation Bell Jangle while serving aboard the destroyer USS Wiltsie. The third major naval exercise off the coast of California this year, Bell Jangle is a First Fleet op eration designed to empha size the tactics needed in both Southeast Asian op R. I. McCall is married to the former Marguerite Butler of Hertford and they have two sons. The McCalls' are Baptists. Pearce trained as a medi cal technologist at Johns ton Memorial Hospital for 24 months and served in the lab in the Army for two years. He was with Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro for five months before accepting the local position. The lab technician is married to the former Grace Jones of Princeton and they have an infant daughter. They plan to move to Edenton in the near future.
