BROAD STREET
BULLETIN...
By Kate
A single rose in a silver vase,
A lovely gift to see,
Giving me much pleasure,
A symbol of love to me.
A longed-for gift in a sheltered spot,
Where we may sit in quiet thought,
Not to worry or wonder “Why”
But being content as the world goes by.
As I’ve just passed over
another milestone in my
life, I feel so very grate
ful, yet humble for the
precious gift of life, espe
cially when I realize the
happiness given to me by
those I love. Having good
friends and a loving fam
ily is truly happiness in
every way.
Bill Davis, who enjoys a
sort of reunion of relatives
end friends each year on
his birthday, was honored
again this past Sunday with
an outdoor picnic, to which
we were invited again. We
look forward to this feast
each year and always have
such a good time getting
pver-fed. It’s fine, too, to
greet Bill and his family
each year and to meet
again the folks who gather
ihere. Many more happy
birthdays, Bill!
We're glad to see our
friend ar.d neighbor, Irma

Allsbrook home again. It’s
just been too quiet next
door. Irma is another
happy person. In spite of
lots of ups and downs, she
can smile and keep a
twinkle in her brown eyes.
We still have our preco
cious little girl with us,
who keeps us entertained
and busy all her waking
hours. When I walk in her
loom, after she’s asleep, I
wonder just how I’ll be
able to let her return to
her parents. Grandmothers
may act foolish, but that
love for gandchildren is so
fierce that you just must
be a grandmother to appre
ciate the fact.
How proud the -Kehayes
family must have been this
past weekend to have their
son Tommy at home for
just a little while and to
have him preach an excel
lent sermon at St. Paul’s
episcopal Church Sunday
morning. However, alto
gether this is a fine fam
ily, where love and trust
reigns.
You can’t be a pessimist
and expect to 'be lucky!
A Few Hints
No recipes please send
me your favorites.
If you’ve been given per
fume in scents you don’t
especially like, use them in
your bath water. Diffused
in water, they will be mere
pleasant.
Perspiration stains on
washables can be erased if
covered with a baking soda
paste for a few minutes
before lauundering the gar.
ment.
When you’re icing a
cake, frost the sides first,
then pile the icing high on
top.
Ulcerous Source
Doctors agree that stom
ach ulcers come from
something you hate, not
from something you ate.
