This is a record en rollment for the school. Faye Parrish, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Yates Parrish, Jr., Route 2, Eden ton, and Susan Shearin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Shearin, Cape Col ony, are both freshmen. Misses Parrish and Shear in are both graduates of John A. Holmes High School. They reported to the Peace campus Sunday. Miss Vaughan 1 To Wed In Nov. Dr. and Mrs. Roland Har ris Vaughan of Edenton announce the engagement of their daughter, Martha Miller, to James Leßoy Heilman, both of New York City. Mr. Heilman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Leon Heilman of Hanover, Penna. Miss Vaughan is the granddaughter of George Byron Miller and the late Jennie Swank Miller of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Dabney Vaughan of Gooch land County, Va. She was graduated from St. Mary’s Preparatory School and Junior College in Raleigh, where she was elected to the 'Order of the Circle and from the Kath erine Gibbs School in New York City. She was pre sented at the 1967 Tedpsi chorean Debutante Ball in Raleigh. Mr. Heilman is a gradu ate of Colgate University, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha so cial fraternity; Psi Chi, National Honor Society in Psychology and Konosioni, Senior Honor Society. He is also a graduate of Pennsylvania National Guard Officer Candidate School and serves as exec tive officer, 101st Cavalry, New York City. He is an assistant sales manager with Emily-M. A November wedding is planned. Society News Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dycus and Wilbom from Cohutta, Ga., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ray and boys for several days last week. They all spent Sat urday at Nags Head. Jinny Paris and Tommy Lane of Graham and Pete Paris and Anne Chandler of Raleigh were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shoff ner this weekend. Raymond Mitchell has returned to Guilford Col lege after spending the weekend in Edenton. Randy Copeland of South Carolina was home visiting his mother, Mrs. Mary Copeland. C Gale Cozzens and Mary Jo Wozelka have returned to East Carolina University. Mr. and Mrs. C. McKay Washington, 138 Morris Circle, were recent visitors at Florida’s Silver Springs. NEWLYWEDS HONORED Sandra Nixon and Robbie Boyce, recent newlyweds, were honored with a cook out on August 29 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Venters in Center Hill. LARRY ALAN HANNIBAL Miss Rogerson Weds Edenton Baptist Church was the setting for the < high noon wedding of Miss , Helen Bernice Rogerson of , Bethel to Larry Alan Han nibal of Raleigh on Satur- j day, August 30. The bride is the daugh- , ter of Mr. and Mrs. Mack Gilbert Rcgerson of Bethel, ( formerly of Edenton, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester L. Hannibal of Greenville, S. C. The bride was given in marriage by her father. The wedding music was provided by Miss Ceceila Willoughby, organist, and Mrs. Robert Thomas, solo ist. The bride wore a formal gown of delustered satin. The bodice was covered with Viennese lace with a scalloped neckline accentu ated by an array of seed pearls and crystals. The full length A line skirt was accentuated with lace ap pliques edged with seed pearls. The bell shaped sleeves were of Viennese lace with a scalloped edge accentuated with seed pearls and crystals, as was the detachable lace chapel train. The headpiece was of lace petals outlined with crystals and seed pearls with a veil of silk illusion. The bride carried a bou- quet of white bride’s roses, stephonatis centered with a white orchid backed with ivy leaves. The bride de signed her dress and it was made by her mother. Mrs. Harold Hudson Weaver of Raleigh was matron of honor. Miss Gail j Cozzens of Edenton was J maid of honor. Alls ibrook and grandaughter, Teresa Hughes, returned home Monday after spend ing several days in Rich mond, Va. Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Dix on, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Brit ton, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar White and Mr. and Mrs. Woody Copeland spent the weekend at Nags Head. Edenton welcomes Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. D. Jones and twins, Mac and Penny, to start route, Eden ton. Their former home was Roanoke Rapids. Bill Isaacs and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ed Lassiter spent the Labor Day weekend in Darlington, S. C. While there they enjoyed the “Miss Southern 500’’ beauty pageant on Saturday night and the “Southern 500” stock car race on Labor Day. Before returning home they visited the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Tweetsie Railroad in Blow ing Rock, toured Frontier Village in Boone and also Grandfather Mountain with the mile high swinging bridge at Linville. i Mr. Hannibal was his : son’s best man. Ushers were John David Jones of Columbia, S. C.; Arthur j Wienchen, Jr., and Jack , Edward Sain, both of Ra- < leigh, and John Shortridge of Atlanta, Ga. The parents of the bride ’ entertained at a reception 1 following the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. The mother of the bride wore a light blue dress with matching accessories and a corsage of yellow or chids. The mother of the bride groom wore a yellow silk dress with matching acces sories and a corsage of green orchids. Miss Catherine Aman of Jacksonville served as mis tress of ceremonies. For traveling the bride changed into navy blue costume dress trimmed in lavender with lavender ac cessories. Her corsage was the white orchid lifted from her wedding bou quet. The couple will be at home at 4705 East Bluebird Court, Dutch Village apart ments, in Raleigh. Mrs. Hannibal is a grad uate of Meredith College and is employed by the Wake County Schools. Mr. Hannibal is also employed by the Wake County Schools, attended N. C. State University in engi neering electronics, where he pledged Sigma Pi Fra ternity. He is furthering his education in oceono ' graphy and marine biology. ENGAGED —Mrs. Sadie Marie Copeland announces the engagement of her daughter, Ann Bede, to Roger Wayne Watson. Mr. Watson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wright Wat son of Virginia Beach, Va. He is a 1969 graduate of Bayside High School. Miss Copeland is a 1968 gradu ate of Chowan High School and now resides in Nor folk, Va. The wed ling will ; take place at 2:30 P.
