BROAD STREET
BULLETIN...

At Housecleaning Time, I know I’ll be
Somewhat under suspicion
He wants to save his worn out clothes
For when he goes a ’fishin’.
And so we have all sorts of clothes,
Enough to stock a mission
Just because he likes to keep
Them all . . . to go a ’fishin’.
Both Buff and I usually
look like bums when we
go fishing and we really
have an assortment of fish
•ing clothes. Sometime I’m
going to get real provoked
land throw away all but
lone outfit but then who
wants to look like a sport?
It’s congratulations to
Vickie and Archie Hughes
on the birth of a new
daughter, Tammy Jo. If
she’s as cute and pretty as
Teresa, her sister, her par
ents will have a time about
16 years from now. Os
course, proud Grandma Ir
ma Allsbrook has two to
spoil now.
I’ll remind you again,
but I’ll tell you now that
■the Order of the Eastern
Star will sponsor a fish
fry October 18 for dinner
and supper, out beside the
Boy Scout hut on North
Broad Street. Tickets can
be obtained from all East
ern Star members and the
proceeds will go to the
Masonic and Eastern Star
Home at Greensboro.
Congratulations also to
: lhe graduates of the Adult
Driving School. One friend
jin particular, I know is
:mighty proud of her suc
cessful venture in the field
•of women drivers. I’m just
•being facetious, of course.
.'The drivers’ training school
.is a good Way for many to
•learn to drive the right
;way and I honestly believe
.all women should learn to
'drive a car—but don’t let
ryour husband teach you—
you’ll have a wreck the
first day.
Most of us ride for short
distances down town, with
out realizing that the walk
would be much better for
sis. This week I met an
Elderly lady on the street,
;Who told me that she had
just came here from Yan
kee land. She lives way
