I’ve now decided that I want this insurance. When can I sign up? A. You may sign up any time during the period of January 1 through March 31, 1970. Tobacco Lease And Transfer Tobacco lease and transfer applications may be signed to April 1, 1970. Farm opera tors are reminded that tobacco leases must be signed each year to transfer tobacco from one farm to another. The effective allotment, or total acreage leased or transferred cannot exceed 50% of the cropland on the farm. Peanut Lease And Transfer Peanut lease and transfer applications may be filed up to April 1, 1970. Peanuts may be leased or sold to any farm within the county regardless of whether the receiving farm has an allotment or not The acreage of peanuts transferred depends on the normal yield of the fauns involved. The normal yield is the five year average production for the farm Sot the years 1965 through 1989. Acceptable Diverted Acreage Diverted acreage under the 1970 Wheat or Feed Grain Programs must have been . . . .. ■ ' • '. ' .--.4 cropland in 1989. The land must be in condition that in the absence of the program it could be readily devoted to the crop being diverted. The fact that the land was ac cepted as diverted acreage in 1989 or a prior year does not necessarily mean that the land, is acceptable for diverted acreage in 1970. Diverted acres must be in whale fields or areas of reasonable size and shape within fields. Premeasurement The county office is now taking requests for premeas urement of allotment crops and land uses. The rates are: $3.00 plus 80c per acre with a $7.50 minimum per farm.
