Garnish the dessert with long-stemmed cherries and serve it on your fanciest pedestal plate. Os course, if you’re entertaining, Valentine Creme is g natural for the buffet table. This recipe makes eight to 10 servings. Valentine Creme 2 pkgs. <3 oz. each) straw berry gelatin. 2% cups hot water. 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese. V, cup sugar. 1 2/3 cans undiluted evapor ated milk. 1 pkg. (10 oz.) thawed froz en sliced strawberries. Dissolve gelatin in hot water. Cool slightly. Blend ' cream cheese and sugar until ■ light and smooth. Add evap ' orated milk. Mix well. Stir gelatin and strawberries into evaporated milk mixture un til well mixed. Pour into a six-cup heart mold. Chill about four hours or until firm. Peppermint pi e captures hearts on Valentine's Day, too, whether served as a party dessert or the crowning touch to a special meal plan ned for the family. Peppermint Pie j 1 tablespoon .unflavored i gelatin. % cup cold water. 3 egg whites. % cup sugar. % cup bits of crushed pep permint stick candy. % cup chopped toasted al monds. Mi teaspoon vanilla. 1 cup whipping cream. 1 nine-inch baked pie shell. Soften gelatin in water for five minutes. Dissolve over hot water. Beat egg whites until almost stiff. Gradually beat in sugar until meringie is stiff. Fold in dissolved gelatin, crushed candy, al monds and flavoring. Beat whipping cream until stiff and fold into egg white mix ture. Turn into pie shell. Outline a large heart on top of the pie and sprinkle with red sugar. Or, decorate pie with a row of red candy hearts around edge of top. Chill until firm. O’Hara of Indiana, Pa., has announced the engagement of her daugh ter, Miss Mary Beth O’Hara, to Henry Charles House, 111, son of Mrs. Henry Charles House, Jr., of Chapel Hill and the late Mr. House. Miss O’Harf is also the daughter of the late Mark J. O’Hara. Miss O’Hara was graduated from Marcyhurst College in Erie, Pa., with a degree in mathematics. Mr. House received his de gree in business administra tion from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He served three years with the armed forces and is now employed in Washing ton, D. C.
