The signal honor was ac corded ‘‘Miss Lena” by Eden ton’s Business and Profes sional Woman’s Club at their Bosses’ Night banquet Thurs day. The annual gala also feat ured a no-nonsense, law and order address by Court of Appeals Judge Naomi Morris of Wilson. The choice of Lena Jones as the BPWs 20th Woman of the Year award winner was a popular one. Nielsen-Bunch Vows Are Spoken Edenton Baptist Church was the setting for the wed ding of Miss Gail Darlene Nielsen to John Norfleet Bunch, Jr., on Saturday, January 24. Rev. R. N. Carroll officiat ed at the double-ring cere mony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Ole S. Niel sen and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bunch, Sr. Wedding music was pre sented by Mrs. E, Taylor Brown, organist, and Miss Julie Harris, soloist. The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a floor length satin gown with a V-necklime finished with bridal buttons. The gown was covered with an overlay of scalloped em broidered silk organza featur i ing a shoulder train. Her , circular veil of silk illusion 1 fell from a headpiece of pearlized orange blossoms. Mrs. Wayne Ashley, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Mrs. W. D. Townson 111, Mrs. A. F. Downum, Jr., of Edenton, sisters of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Warren Joyner of Durham. Mr. Bunch was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Dr. A. F. Downum, Jr., William D. Townson 111, Robert L. Bunch, Jr., and J. Wayne Ashley, all of Edenton. The bride’s mother chose a turquoise knit dress with matching accessories and wore a corsage of white glam elias. The mother of the bride groom wore a turquoise knit dress with navy blue acces sories and a corsage of white glamelias. Mrs. Isabel Taylor of Ty rone, Pa., grandmother of the bride, was attired in brown and Mrs. Carrie Swanner, grandmother of the bride-'’ groom, wore navy blue. Both had white glamelias. Mrs. J. JOHN NORFLEET BUNCH, JR. Spring Flower Show Set The Garden of Eden Club is happy and excited to join Historic Edenton, Inc., this spring in staging a flower show in local historic build ings. The show will be held April 18 with Mrs. L. F, Am burn, Jr., as general chair man. Many clubs have already made plans to attend the show in response to invita tions sent recently mailed to neighboring towns. Junior gardeners are going to help conduct tours of the homes and costumes are to be worn.
