Holmes High School, is participating i jin a United Nations - Wash- i jington study tour this week, i I The study tour is being i conducted by the United i Methodist Youth Fellowship of the N. C. Conference of j | the United Methodist Church. 'She is one of a group of 40 1 youth selected from 56 east ern counties. The study lour will attend sessions of the United Nations and the i Congress of the United States. < Briefings by various mem- I bers of world and national 1 governments wiU be features I of the tour. I The purposes of the tour 'are (1) to understand the functions and operations of the United Nations and the i United States government; ' (2) to provide the opportun- i ity to participate in discus- i sion of current world affairs; 1 (3) to discuss the Christian's | responsibility and the role of the church in the issues rais ed before the United Nations and the federal government, and (4) to discuss how youth can determine his Christian responsibility in these issues. The tour will include places of interest in New York City and Washington, D. C.
