Everett Jordan (D-NC) mads a strong bid Thursday for immediate authorization of the long-deferred Oregon In let project in North Carolina’s Outer Banks area. Sen. Jordan, in a state ment to tho Senate Public Works Flood Control—Rivers and Harbors Subcommittee, urged that the project be in eluded in this year’s Omnibus Public Works Authorization Bill and indicated he will press for funds to start the work as soon as the authori zation is approved. He emphasized that emer- FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT LA PLATA, MARYLAND Herman (Wormy) Adams died Tuesday morning, April 14 of a heart attack in La Plata, Md. He was the son of the late Ruby Mitchell and a former resident of Edenton. He was employed by the Edenton Cotton Mill. Survivors include: his wife, Margaret, and stepchildren of La Plata; two sisters, Jean nette Smith of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jacqueline Carcura of Schenectady, N. Y.; one half-sister, Donna Forman.
