Highway No. 32 north of
Edenton at Valhalla, a warn
ing sign of trucks entering
the highway on a reduce
speed sign. A reduce speed
sign at Mavaton on road 1303
near intersection of 1315. We
feel that fills is necessary
due to a curve and the road
not being elevated. Several
accidents have happened here
due to water standing on
highway. We recommend to
change stop sign at northeast
intersection of 1216 and 1222
to a yield sign.

fire warning for the Court
House and the jail. The
Commissioners expressed the
immediate need for a system
but no decision was made at
this time.
W. (M. Sanford, president cf
the Albemarle Area Arts
Council, and T. B. H. Wood,
president of the Edenton-
Chowan Arts group, appeared
before the Board requesting
$300.00 dor promotion of the
program. No action was
taken.
A 20-year service certifi
cate was presented to Mrs.
Mabel Jordan, secretary in
the agriculture extension de
partment, by J. Clarence
Leary, chairman. Mr. Leary
congratulated Mrs. Jordan on
her achievement.
A delegation of Chowan
Beach residents appeared be
fore the Board registering a
complaint relative to com
fhdrcial fishermen placing
nets near the shore, making
, swimming and boating dang-
erous. A lengthy discussion
! was held. The chairman ap
pointed Carey M. Evans to
investigate the matter.
