The public was invited to visit the new home of Curtis Lightfoot, Route 2, Hertford. The house is located between Winfall and Whiteston communities. R. L. Spivey, chairman of Perquimans County Commis sioners and Joe Nowell, president of Perquimans County Chamber of Com merce, spoke at the open house at 4:30 P. M. This low cost house was being shown to promote bet ter housing in Perquimans County. Many valuable prizes were given; away. A $25 Savings Bond was given by the Per-| quimans Chamber of Com-' merce. Appliances were giv-' en by the Albemarle Electric, Membership Corporation and Talley Construction Company. The house has economy, convenience, privacy and comfort for Mr. and Mrs. Lightfoot an- d their three children, Shirley, age 13; Jer ry, age 11 and Zelene, age six. Three bedrooms, a living room, a bath, a combination kitchen and dining room in 863 square feet of heated space make this a sort of bonus house.
