I THE CHOWAN HERALD, EDENTON, NORTH CAROLINA, THURSDAY, AUGUST M, 1978 IN MEMORIAM Os Ronald Bass, who passed away so suddenly August 20, 1969: It seems just a short span of time, When you were a curly hair ed boy of mine. So full of life, happy and carefree, Thinking nothing would ever happen to thee, But it was just a year ago today When news came, son, you had been taken away. Shocked, stunned and staring out into space. Thinking and wondering why I couldn’t have taken your place. We know we are not to ques tion the things God allows to happen in our lives. Even in time of sorrow it can deepen our faith And point us to the skies. Memories of you are treasures no one can steal. Death is a heartache only God can heal. Some may have forgotten you now you are gone, I shall remember you no I matter how long. I The .call was so sudden and shock severe, |To part with you seemed so hard to bear. But one day the things that seemed so hard to face Will be unveiled in Heaven, that wonderful place. So until my Master calls me from the sky, Memories of you will linger, son, where there are no good-byes. Mother, Vergie Bass.
