Garden Os Eden
Meeting Is Held
Miss .Lynn Williams of
Elizabeth City demonstrated
to the Garden of Eden Club
members the simple art of
using dried flowers, grasses
and weeds to make lovely
“flower pictures.’’ Small pic
ture frames with convex
lenses, in several sizes were
used. These were backed
with velvet on which the
tiny dried flowers, leaves and
grasses were glued to make
miniature arrangements.
Miss Williams said that
autumn is the best time to
collect flowers for drying,
the frames are inexpensive
and with a little of our time
and a very minimum of ma
terials, we can make very
pretty gifts for friends and
accessories for our homes
Mrs. W. J. P. Earnhardt,
Jr., club president, announced
new projects for the year.
Mrs. David Wright. was hos
tess for the very enjoyable

The Mini And The Maxi
While fashion experts debate the length of hemlines. General
Electric Company has tailored two new design innovations of its
own. The V4-hp jet-pump motor and 66,000-hp jet engine are the
latest additions to GE’s wide selection of power units.
The improved jet-pump motor for farm, home and light indus
trial water systems incorporates a unique drip-proof design, a
new development within the pump motor field. The CF6 jet
engine is a new turbofan designed to power the McDonnell
Douglas DC-10 wide-bodied aircraft which will enter airline
service in 1971.
