This has brought Japanese consumers more meat and poultry at better prices; it has opened opportunities for Japanese farmers for new and profit able livestock enterprises; it has meant an important and expanding feed grain market for world agriculture . . . “Almost the whole range of U. S. farm commodities finds Japan a leading customer. “Japan wants, needs, and can afford these products, and the U. S. can supply them in any system of international trade in which price, quality, and availability are the pri mary factors . . . “In a world of competition, export expansion means sales manship and service as well as price, quality, and availa bility. The producers and marketers of the major U. S. agricultural products have un derstood this, and they sup port some 68 private trade organizations formed to de velop markets overseas in cooperation with the Depart ment of Agriculture. This is, of course, a mutual effort— with many strong Japanese organizations bringing to it their special knowledge, their special abilities." In closing, Agriculture Sec retary Hardin gave special recognition to the trade or ganizations for the three com modities which last year ac counted for two-thirds of to tal U. S. agricultural exports to Japan feed grams, soy beans, and wheat. An end to cancer is every one’s dream. Make it come true. Support the American Cancer Society.
