Edenton, North Carolina, Thursday, October 8, 1970 Board’s Sequence Hit 164 Last Call William S. Elliott, chair man of Local Draft Board 21, announced today that Ran dom Sequence No. 164 is the highest lottery number reach ed by the local board so far this year. Elliott also said that the local board’s draft calls for the remainder of 1970 probab ly can be filled without go ing beyond No. 164, but this will not definitely be known until sometime in November when the local board’s induc tion call for December is re ceived from state headquar ters. The local board spokesman also said that in compliance _ with the recently announced White House executive order, all registrants of Local Board No. 21 who are in Class 1-A or Class I-A-O on December 31, and who hold a lottery number equal to or lower than the highest number reached by the board during 1970, but who, for any rea son, are not issued orders to report for induction prior to December 31, 1970, will be carried over for induction during the first three months of 1971. These registrants will be in. ducted before the registrants who otherwise would be first , eligible for induction in 1971, such as registrants in Class 1-A and Class I-A-O who be ; come 19 during 1970 and reg ; istrants in Class 1-A and Class 1-A-O who have reached age , 20, but not age 26, whose de ferments have expired. ; Elliott also stated that the ( presidential executive order Part-time service.
