Alma Griffin of Edenton to Fred Thomas Cas telloe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred M. Castelloe, also of Edenton, was solemnized at 3 P. M. in the First Christian Church of Edenton on Sun day, November 22. The church was decorated in a profusion of emerald green palms, white gladioli, mums and chrysanthemums. A 12-taper candelabra form ed the background for the wedding altar with additional 4-taper candelabra to either side. The vows were spoken be fore Rev. E. C. Alexander. The bride entered on the aittn of who gave her in marriage.' She wore a wedding gown of white sat in. The fitted bodtpe featur ed a portrait neckline and long sleeves, tapering to points at the hands. Re embroidered alencon lace en circled the neckline and was highlighted in a panel of the “A” line skirt, which swept into a full chapel train. Her veil of imported silk illusion wfis arranged from a forward headpiece of lace . petals, en crusted with pearls and crys tals. A solo was sung by Miss Faye Wright and a duet was rendered by Mrs. Joyce Grimes and Miss Faye Wright, both of Chesa peake, Va. Miss Ann Castelloe of New port News, Va., was maid of honor. Misses Norman Layden and Marcia Nixon were brides maids. Stephanie Pickell was flower girl. , Marty Griffin, brother of the bride, was ring bearer. Mr. Castelloe was best man for his son. Ushers were Jerry Castelloe, brother of the bridegroom and Cab Calloway of Newport New%, Va. The mother of the bride chose a two-piece dress of beige knit. She wore beige accessories and a corsage of a beige cymbidium orchid. The mother of the bride groom wore a fitted dress of a turquoise blue knit fabric. She used matching acces sories and wore a corsage of a beige cymbidium orchid. Mrs. Janice Barber of Chesapeake, Va., was mistress of ceremonies. Immediately following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Cas telloe left for a wedding trip to Williamsburg, Va. Thursday, December 3, 1970. Mr. Griffin Claims Bride Miss Linda Ann Mashbum cf Raleigh and Edwin Cason Griffin, Jr., formerly of Eden ton, were united in marriage on Saturday at 6 P. M. at Knollwood Baptist Church, Winston-Salem. Miss Mashbum is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Mashbum of Winston - Salem and Mr. Griffin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Erwin C. Grif fin, Sr., of Edenton. ■The bride wore a gown of ivory silk satin appliqued with French alencon lace mo tifs and seed pearls, with a chapel length matilla border ed in alencon lace. Her flowers were white roses, stephanotis and ivy. Dr. Jack Ricks Noffsinger officiated at the ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Mrs. James L. Royster of Wilson, sister cf the bride, was the honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Harry L. Mashbum of Colum bia, S. C.; Mrs. Michael A. Van Horn of Raleigh and Mrs. Jaimes R. Burleson of Ra leigh. The ring bearer was Wil liam Patton Mashburn of Co lumbia, S. C. Best man was the father of the bridegroom and ushers were Reginald S. Griffin of Edenton, James R. Burleson of Raleigh and Mackinley F. Wright of Raleigh. A reception was given after the wedding at the fellowship hall of the church by the bride’s parents. A wedding trip to Beech Mountain Ski Lodge was planned and after the trip the couple will make their home in Raleigh. The bride is a graduate Os Meredith College in Raleigh, and is presently employed as a teacher with the Granville County School System. The bridegroom attended the University of Mississippi and is a graduate of N. C. State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity.
