Janice Evans, president of the coun ty 4-H council, presided. Handy Copeland, Hyland Junior 4-H and Janet Bunch, Advance 4-H, led the group in the pledges. Mary Helen Dail, 4 Leaf Clover Club, gave an inspir ing devotional followed by a solo “How Great Thou Art” by Calvin Vaughn. Gene Jordan Ryland Junior 4-H, welcomed leaders, par ents, friends and 4-H'ers to ■.he achievement program. Mrs. Leon Evans gave the response. Recognition of special guests was made by Susan Jordan, Ryland Senior 4-H Club. Stanley, president of the Peoples Bank and Trust Company, has announced the election of Ted G. Burgess as vice president in charge of the bank’s Computer-Opera tions Center with responsibil ity for data processing and related customer services. Burgess was formerly as sociated with Mercantile Safe Deposit and Trust Company of Baltimore as assistant vice president where he was re sponsible (for data processing and customer services de partment. Before joining Mercantile he was employed by the North Carolina Na tional Bank where he was engaged in data processing, program analysis and sys tems including position as manager of data processing in Greensboro and Raleigh.
