The speak* er tor this revival meeting .will be Dr. Monroe Parker of Decatur, Ala. Dr. Parker is well known as one of America's leading evangelists. (He has con ducted over 700 evangelistic campaigns in 42 states. His wide experience in the field of Christian education great ly enhanced his ministry. He has served as an assist ant to the president of Sob Jones 'University in Green, ville, S. C., and as president of Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, Owatonna, Minn. He is currently the general di rector of the Baptist World Mission Board and serves on the educational boards for the following schools: Bob Jones University, Indiana Bible College and the Mid western Baptist College. Ches son, a star athlete, has been draftee to play professional football with Atlanta Falcons. Hicks Named To State Post Jesse L. Hicks has been appointed state conservation ist of the USDA-Soil Con servation Service for North Carolina effective Juge 14. He will be the f person to hold the post in more than 35 years of SCS conservation work through soil and water conservation districts in North Carolina. ?• Longest - term State; Con servationist was E. B. Garrett, now retired, who held it from the mid-30’s until Aug ust 31, 1959. He was suc ceeded by Richard M. Dailey, w’-o served from September 1, 1959, to the same day in 1963. Joseph P. Kuykendall was State Conservationist from 1963 to January ;i, 1968, and was succeeded by'Charles W. Bartlett, who was trans ferred from North Carolina to Georgia on June I,' 1971. Hicks will move to his Ra 'eish assignment from Co lumbus, Ohio, where he is deputy state conservationist.
