For instance, I used to think there was nothing sillier than golf—until I got a chance to take i.p the game almost 10 years ago. And now you can’t find a more avid player, especially since I finally won my first trophy this week (the consolation prize in the championship flight for the club champion ship at the Plymouth Country Club). j Even less likely than an 1 interest in golf was the pos- < sibility that I would ever enjoy the motorcycle world. > This past weekend proved ' how wrong I was. Thanks j to an invitation from my son < and daughter who are stu- < dents at NCS'J in Raleigh and i both motorcycle enthusiasts, I 1 attended my first 'motorcycle 1 race in Wilson and found it 1 very interesting. Enthusiasm is catching and it would have been impossible to remain un infected by it, despite the high noise level. SCREECHES TIME FOR VACATION—As. ter a year of vague planning for my vacation, we had a day in the library yesterday that decided me it was time for me to stop planning and get going. Everyone has had days with one small crisis after another but this was a particularly hectic series. First we received a bock we couldn’t recall ordering (fin ally discovered it was an “on. approval” type order); then ■the key broke off in the rest room door (fortunately no one was inside at the time); then a child developed a nosebleed need I continue? By the time this appears in print, I will be in Montreal visiting my oldest daughter, : Vicki Provenchcr, my belov ed son-in-law ißay and their 1 young son, Marcel. My good ' friend and neighbor, Molly 1 Trowbridge, is accompanying 1 me and we plan to glory in 1 the fall colors along the way. ' ] NOW IN VIETNAM •U. S. ARMY, VIETNAM— ! Army Pvt. William H.
