Hollowell, former mayor of Winfall, is chairman of the Perquimans County Industrial Development Committee and a member of the N. C. Pe troleum Association, the N. C. Oil Jobbers Association and the National Fuel Oil Insti tute. 'He is a member of the Ruritan Club and a past district governor of Ruritan National. He was a retired fanner and the son of the late Dor othy Hobbs and Josiah C. Eason. He is survived by two nieces: Miss Carrie Lee HcA lowell and Mrs. Clarissa Hen drix cf Tyner, and a nephew, Joseph Hollowell of Cora pcake. A funeral service was held at Ballard’s Bridge Baptist Church, where he was a member, on Friday at 2:30 P. M. with Rev. George Cooke officiating. Burial followed in the Ea son family cemetery. Williford Funeral Home was in charge of the arrange ments. Gardner Names Bennett, East GOP gubernatorial candi date Jim Gardner has named Morehead City attorney, Thomas S. Bennett and East Carolina University profes sor, Dr. John P. East, his First District co-chairmen. Bennett,- district chairman for Gardner in 1968, is past chairman of the Carteret County Republican Executive Committee, was a member of the State House of Represen tatives from 1963 to 1963, is presently chairman of the Carteret County Board of Commissioners and chairman of the Carteret County Board ot Health.
