Heart Fund Goad Reached
The Chowan Chapter of the
Heart Fund reached its goal
of $3,000 during the recent
campaign.
The goal was reached by
several means including
downtown solicitations, bene
fit spaghetti and barbecue
meals, balloon and tag sales,
performance by the Lewis
family, door to door cam
paign and individual contri
butions.
The largest benefit check
came from the proceeds of
the barbecue sponsored by
the Edenton National Guard
unit. Each year the Guards
men donate their time and
energies to prepare a meal
and give all the proceeds to
the Heart Fund.
