the parking space beside the
fire hydrant be used for po
lice and emergency vehicles
only. It will be marked as
such in the immediate future.

was the discussion of a dog
ordinance. Council members
stated they feel there is a

since he has been the chief
of police this is one of the
main sources of complaints
from residents.
He remarked that at least
13 complaints are logged each
month and this docs not in
clude the complaints that po
licemen on patrol receive.
The fact that the county
has started n dog program
was also mentioned.
The council agreed that dis-
ferent ordinances should be
looked into and that a public
hearing should be held on
the situation.
■Mrs. Novella Wilson came
before the council members
with a complaint about an
“unsightly', unclean and un
healthy” ditch in front of her
house. The ditch is situated
on the corner of Freemason
and Oakum Streets.
A public hearing was held
on the Granville Street peti
tion and after no objections
the council approved a side
walk to be constructed on
Granville Street.
A public hearing was also
held on the passing of a sub
division ordinance.
D. F. Walker and Shelton
Moore stated opposing views
to the ordinance.

ed by the council members.

EARLY REBELLION WINS— Michael Kerry Williams, two, son of photographer
Jack Williams of Elizabeth City, looks puzzler! by his Dad’s blue ribbon illustrative
study, “Early Rebellion,” which features his Christening, frown and all. Michael’s
only aversion to water is when it is poured on hi s head. Anyway, Michael says
there have been a lot of “changes” made since then. The direct color print was dis
played at a Williamsburg convention of the Virginia Professional Photographers
Association. Shown assisting Fr. John O’Brien are Mr. and Mrs. Norm Cossaboom
who substituted for the godparents, Gen. and Mrs. Billy Ellis, I’SAF.
