He commented that in 10 years look at yourself in the mirror and see if you are proud of what you have made of your self." Receiving awards in basketball were Rhonda Bass and Don Bass, best defensive; Patricia Perry and Waverly Westbrook, most valuable players, and Shei la Byrum and Guy Holley, sportsmanship awards. Receiving baseball awards were Paul White, most valuable player; Don Bass, leading hit ter; and Larry Parks, sports manship. A special trophy was awarded to Bill Bunch, son of the late William C. Bunch. The special trophy is named the William C. Bunch Trophy and will be awarded annually to a student with outstanding abilities. Presenting the award was Principal Gilliam Underwood. Coach Harry Land made the basketball presentations and John Ward made the baseball presen tations. {Baseball League Being Organized A baseball league is being formed for boys IB to 18 years of age and those interested in participating arc asked to contact either Harry Land at Chowan High School or Lin Jc>-dan at Holmes High School. Miriam White, 73, Dies In Ahoskie Mrs. Miriam Montague While of Colerain died at the age of 73 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital Friday, after an extended ill ness. A native of Bertie County, she is the daughter of Mrs. Johnnie Wickings and John M. Montague and the wife cf Manly H, White. Surviving besides her parents and husband are a sister. Mrs. Carl B.
