Mr. Trenholm is the son of Mrs. David Bernard Trenholm of Newport News, Va., and the late Mr. Trenholm. The bride is also the grand daughter of Mrs. J. W. Griffin of Edenton and the late Mr. Griffin. Gray Continuing Slide Presentation At the 11 o'clock worship service Sunday morning Rev. Robert E. Gray, pastor of Edenton Baptist Church, will use “Blessed Are Those Who Read, Hear and Keep" as ,his sermon topic. Text will be taken from Revelation 1:1-20. Mr. Gray will continue showing the slide presentation at the 7:30 evening worship service. Trenholm I Mrs. Ole Nielson of Suffolk, Va., spent Thursday with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ashley. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Warren of Norfolk, Va., visited Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ashley over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. James Ed wards of Hampton, Va., visit ed his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Will Edwards, over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Culli pher of Newport News, Va., are spending a couple of weeks with their parents in Edenton. SUNDAY SERVICES Edenton United Methodist Church will observe World Wide Communion this Sunday at the 11 A. M. worship ser vice. For the evening ser vice, Layman Larry Knox will be the guest speaker. lEdenton Methodist Church will be host to the Chowan- Perquimans Sub-district Unit ed Methodist Youth Fellow ship Sunday afternoon. Miss Teenager Pageant Planned Young ladies of this area are invited to enter the Miss North Carolina Teen-ager pag ant to be held at the White House Inn, Charlotte, April 8-8, 1973. The Miss North Carolina Teen-ager pageant is the official state preliminary to the Miss National Teen ager pageant to be held in At lanta, Ga., on September 1, 1973. The invitation was issued this week by Mrs. Sybil Shaffer, executive director of the Miss North Carolina Teen ager pageant. The reigning Miss North Carolina Teen ager is Teresa Rivera of Have lock. Contestants will be judged on scholastic achievement leadership, poise - personality and beauty. There is no swimsuit or talent competi tion. The winner of the Miss Carolina Teen-ager pageant will receive a scholarship, other prizes and an all-ex pense paid trip to compete in the Miss National Teen-ager pageant. Triple Family Reunion Is Held Chowan County high school students, especially juniors and seniors, are in vited to open house at N. C. Stale University on Satur day, October 14. Open house is an annual af fair of the School of Agricul ture and Life Sciences and the School of Forest Re sources. In addition, two oth er schools—the School of En gineering and the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences will open their doors to visitors this year. The occasion is designed especially for career - minded high school students, parents, teachers, counselors, alumni and other adults interested in NCSU. R. M. Thompson is chair man of a Chowan County open house committee, which is handling local arrange ments for people who want to attend. Exhibits, tours and discus sions by students and faculty members will be featured at the open house. She became interested in crafts while visting in California, and currently teaches an adult pottery making class. Women Are Cited At Club Meeting Chowan Democratic Women recognized five outstanding members and heard a talk about the national convention in Miami, Fla., at their fall luncheon meeting Tuesday. The meeting was held at Edenton Restaurant with Mrs. W. J. P. Earnhardt, Jr., presi dent, presiding The club recognized Mrs. Lena M. Leary, clerk of Su perior Court, who has receiv ed life memberships in the National and International Associations of Probate Judges. Other outstanding Chowan Democratic women recognized were: Mrs. Bertha Bunch, reg ister of deeds; Mrs. George Hoskins, chairman, Chowan County Board of Elections; Mrs. Joseph Thorud, elections board executive secretary, and Mrs. L. F. Amburn, Jr., a member of Edenton - Chowan Board of Education. Guest speaker was Mrs. George Wood of Camden, a delegate to the national con vention. Forty-two members enjoyed an informative talk by Mrs. Wood. She fielded questions about the conven tion for approximately one hour. The N. C. Democratic Wo men's convention will be Oc tober 6-7 at the Durham Hotel. In addition to Mrs. Earn hardt, Jr., officers for this year are: Mrs. Leo Katkaveck, first vice president; Mrs. George A. Byrum, second vice presi dent; Mrs. Edward G. Bond, third vice president; Mrs. W. H. Winborne, treasurer; Mrs. Earnhardt, Sr., recording sec retary, and Mrs. Thomas Leary, corresponding secre tary.
