The Readers Theater will be performing in the Holmes Auditorium at 8:15 P.M. “The Wilde Night" will be presented only 10 times and Edenton is fortunate to have one of these performances. NORMAN and FAMILY Holmes Drama Class Ready For 2-Night Stand “The Man Who Came To Dinner” will open tonight (Thursday) in Holmes Auditorium at 8 o’clock. This three-act comedy by Moss Hart and George Kaufman will be presented again tomorrow night by the Holmes Drama students, under the direction of Mrs. Sandra Boyce. The comedy in the play stems from an accident. Sheridan Whiteside, portrayed by Robert Wright, is a successful radio and television personality. Moore Appeals Active Prison Terms Imposed An Elizabeth City Negro was given two active prison sentences in Chowan County District Court Tuesday after being convicted of shoplifting and the possession of drug supplies. James Waitman Moore, HI, 24, 1125 Southern Avenue, was given six months for shoplifting and an additional 12 months for the possession of a syringe and Society News miss Jane George, student of Meredith College, Raleigh visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick George over the weekend. Phone 482-3298 While yisiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley, played by Rob Roy Holmes and Michele Roberson, Whiteside falls and breaks his hip and must remain with the Stanleys for two weeks. To say the least, Mr. Whiteside is not a willing guest. His irate behavior as well as the many interesting guests who pay him visits create a lot of fun. A touch of romance is added to the play with Whiteside’s secretary, Maggie Cutler, played by Renee Hunnicutt, needle. He gave notice of appeal and bond was set at $1,250.
