Miller attended the graduation of their granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Cherry, a student of East Carolina University, Sunday. Mrs. Harold E. Baker of Coronado, Calif, is visiting her sister, Mrs. T. E. Forehand and Miss Evelyn Leary of Edenton. Mr. and Mrs. Rufus White and Mrs. Bob Ellis attended the graduation of Mrs. Robert Cherry, Sunday. Mrs. Cherry is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. White and the sister of Mrs. Ellis. Mrs. Watts D. Poe of Chapel Hill, visited with her father, Mr. O. B. Perry and her sister, Mrs. Nelle P. Jones over the weekend. Mike Partin, Steve Burroughs and Bruce Jones, Jr. were in a ski show in Belhaven over the weekend. Mrs. Thomas J. Friday, at the Edenton Baptist Church, piano students of Mrs. Robert E. Gray will be presented in recital. Students participating are: Wendy Hare, Kelly West, Kathryn Goodwin, Elizabeth Stevens, Karen Gray, Denise Phthisic, Wanda Bunch, Linda Dail, Charlene Evans, Pat Perry, Terry White, and Jean Parrish. On Sunday afternoon at 4 P.M., Walter Byrum, organ student, will play “Fogoe in G.”, by Bach; Debussy’s “Romance”; “Notturno” by Borodine, and “Sound The Trumpet, Strike The Cymbal”, by Franz Schubert. Walter is a senior at John A. Holmes High School and will enter N. C. State University in Raleigh. With him in recital will be Michelle Roberson, pianist. She will play dementi’s, “Sonatina in C”; “Leßotour” and “Progress” by Burgmuller. She is a rising senior at Holmes High.
