Thursday, June 14.1973 Cjass Os 1934 Reunion Is Held Traveler’s Rest in Suffolk!, Va., was the scene on May 19for the annual reunion of the Chowan High School 1934 graduating class. Class colors of green and white were carried Out in the table centerpiece and decorations throughout the dining room. As the class members assembled; each member welcomed the others they arrived. Wilbur Privott of Tyner, class president, called the reunion to order and welcomed the group. Hallet Perry of Hampton, Va., gave the invocation. After a delightful meal, Mrs. Margueritte W. Jones called the roll with each memberanswering by bringing the others up-to date on their activities since last year. Mrs. Selma Privott I read messages from the absent member. A short memorial was held in memory of a deceased member, Carson Chappell. A special white candle was lighted and a moment of silence as our token of love and respect. Old class momentoes and pictures of last years reunion were shown which proved very interesting and more pic tures were taken. Johnston, Virginia Beach, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. John H: Trexler of Virginia Beach, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Luke Hollowell of Portsmouth, Va.; Mr. and Mrs. Hallet Perry, Hampton, Va.; Murray Chappell, Popular Branch; Mrs. Azalia Winslow, Belvidere; Mrs. Edith White, Merry Hill, and Mrs. Dorothy Chappell, Suffolk, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Beecher Chappell, Mrs. Moody Chappell, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur J. Privott, Mrs. Lloyd Chappell, and Mr. and Mrs. Emmett P. Jones, all of Tyner; Mr. and Mps. Joe Webb of Edenton, and Mt and Mrs. Ralph Ward of Rj^and. It was decided to meet again next year at the same time and same place. Editable Manager Gets Recognition Prank M. Holmes, district manager for Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U. S. here in Edenton has just returned from two Equitable meetings where he received - recognition. First he attended a meeting of ail Equitable managers in the Southern Division held at the Diplomat Hotel, Miami Beach, Fla. At this meeting Holmes was recognized by Richard C. Hageman, executive vice president of Equitable, as one of Eqiti table’s newly appointed district mangers in the nation. Eqqitable has offices in all 50 states and there are approximately 800 district „ offices throughout the nation. Oq June 1, Holmes was recognized at a meeting of the Thomas W. Hicks Agency held at the Sea Ranch Motel, Nags Head. Holmes and George Fields, a member of the Holmes district, were among the leaders in the Spring Campaign held during April and May.
