Ward announce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Janice Elaine, to Mr. Joseph Paul Pratt. Mr. Pratt is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Pratt of Merry Hill. The bride-elect is a graduate of Chowan High School and is employed at The Chowan Herald. Mr. Pratt is a graduate of Bertie High School and is engaged in farming. An August wedding is planned. Baptist Minister Selects Topic Rev. Robert E. Gray, pastor of Edenton Baptist Church, will have as his sermon topic "Is The Church Dead?” at the 11 o’clock worship Sunday morning. Scripture will be taken from Acts 20:25-31. “When Tradition Conflicts With Christianity” will be his subject at the 7:30 evening worship service, with text being Matthew 15:1-20. These ingredients are folded into an unflavored* gelatine mixture that is 1 delightfully spiced and : freshened with horseradish, pepper sauce, and lime juice, i The real beauty of making i .salads such as this one is that | you prepare them ahead and i (they simply wait in the ] refrigerator until serving time. | Spicy Chicken Salad Mold i 34 cups water, divided ir j \ i pj sew f DOWNTOWN EDENTON ' 1 1 2 cup lime juice 3 tablespoons prepared horseradish 1 teaspoon salt ‘4 teaspoon Tabasco 2 envelopes unflavored gelatine 2 cups diced cooked chicken 1 cup diced celery •>2 cup diced green pepper 1 4 cup diced drained pimiento In medium saucepan, combine three cups water, lime juice, horseradish, salt, and Tabasco: bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. In small bowl, sprinkle unflavored gelatine over remaining half cup water; let stand until gelatine is moistened, then add to hot liquid. Place over low heat; stir constantly until gelatine dissolves, about two minutes.
