Clark, a Chocowinity native and graduate of East Carolina University, has become associated with the Employment- Security Commission as Veterans’ Employment Representative. The health and physical education major, a veteran himself, served in the Army and sought employment with the government after his tour of duty. They defeated the Packers, 20-0, in the first game behind the scoring punch of William Privott, Greg Shackleford and David Jordan. Clif Clark, Jeff Babb, and Raleigh Basnight had good defensive games. Steve Holley, Thomas White and Ed Small were defensive standouts for the losers. Two days later the Redskins posted a 22-0, victory over the Dolphins. David Jordan scored twice/William Privott had a 78 yard TD jaunt, Robert Cofield stored two extra points and Cliff Clark posted a safety. Clark, Jfeff Babb and Jim Chesson turned in a good defensive game. Mike Spear, Woody White and Bud Gamer were defensive standouts for the Dolphins. The Packers scored 13 points in the second period—all by Steve Holley—to defeat the Cowboys, 13-12. Allen Downum and Edward Jackson scored TDs for the Cowboys and Downum was joined by Dgvid Jordan and Bruce Woodle 4n 'turning in good defensive play lor the Cowboys. Defensively. Ed Small, Bobby Hutchison and Trent Nixon were standouts for the Packers. Bobby Ashley scored twice and Mike Spear once as the Dolphins posted 18 points in the second period to defeat the Cowboys, 18-6. Allen Downum had the lone TD for the Cowboys. Ashley, Woody White and Larry Ferebee were defensive standouts for the Dolphins with Downum. Neville of Whitakers presided over a session of Chowan County District Court Tuesday. Five cases were disposed of with Keith Teague of Elizabeth City prosecuting the docket. Action taken included; William Cullen Baker, 90 days, suspended upon payment of SIOO fine and costs. Alton Eggenev Williams, reckless driving, 90 days, -suspended upon payment of $75 fine and costs. Mitchell Ira Ward, driving while lidense'suspended, $250 fine and costs. Oliver Lee Parks, assault on a female, prosecuting witness taxed costs of court for failure to testify.
