Page 2-A I A. “"i RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP— GIenn Rogerson, a Cho wan High graduate, is' the recipient of a scholarship award to attend the 22nd annual Short Course in Farm ing at N. C. State University in Raleigh February 4-15. The scholarship is provided through the N. C. Bankers Association by home town banks. He is pictured above with R. Graham White, left, senior vice president, Peoples Bank & Trust Company. Rogerson Attends farm Course Glenn Rogerson, a Chowan High School graduate and resident of Route 1, Tyner will attend the 22nd annual two week Short Course in Modern Farming at North Carolina State University, set for February 4-15 in Raleigh. Scholarships for 2,300 young North Carolinians involved in agriculture have been provided by the hometown banks of this state since the Short Course began in 1953. An enrollment of around 100 is expected for the 1974 Short Course. While in ‘ Raleigh these young farmers from all sections of North Carolina will learn to recognize and evaluate technology in a changing agri-business environment. The program covers broad areas of interest to agricultural leaders and specific commodity information. Jack Harris, vice president of Bank of North Carolina, Mrs. Proctor Dies In Hospital Mrs. Pearl White Proctor. 75, Route 1. Hertford, died Friday morning in Chowan Hospital. A Perquimans County native, she was the widow of Lonnie Alton Proctor and daughter of the late William Thottfa's Attd .Mrs:'. Elizabeth Elliott White. She was a member of 'the Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving are a son. Thomas Proctor, Route 1. Hertford; a daughter. Mrs. Elizabeth Saunders of Davidsonville.MD.; two sisters: Mrs. L. W. Stallings of Edenton and Mrs. Emma Perkins of Alexandria. Va.; two brothers: George T. White of Edenton and James V. White of Largo, Fla.; eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 o'clock in the Chapel of the Swindell Funeral Home in, Hertford by Rev. Gordon Shaw. Burial was in Beaver Hill Cemetery in Edenton. Pallbearers were E. J.
