Page 2-A Mrs. WMerfwy Dies h Hospital Mrs. Sue William* Watarkury. U« Mania Circle, died Saturday afternoon in Chowan Hoapttal Mowing an fflnirr of aeveral week*. She waa 71 A native of Martin County, aha waa the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Pearce William*. She waa the wife of Adrian B. Waterbury, who aurvivie*. Mr*. Waterbury waa a houaewife. hi addition to her husband, surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Frances W. Reichert of Pebam Manor, N. Y.; and Mrs Virginia B. Hillyer of Trumbull Conn.: a brother, Tully W. Williams of Los Angeles. Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Mary W. Berryman of Eden ton; and ll_ grandchildren. Mrs. Waterbury was a member of Edenton Baptist Church where funeral services were held at 11 A.M. Tuesday with Rev. Robert E. Gray officiating. Burial was in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: West Leary, W. P. Jones, Morris Small, Jim Partin, Oscar Duncan and Robert Whiteman. Colonial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. COA Graduation Set For May 31 Dr. S. Bruce Petteway, president, has announced that commencement exercices for College of The Albemarle are scheduled May 31, at 8 P.M. in the college gymnasium. Associate in Arts, Associate in Applied Science or Associate in Science degrees will be_ awarded to the 118 candidates for graduation. E. Eugene Causby, assistant superintendent for personnel relations and public affairs, . State Department of Public Instruction in Raleigh, will be the guest speaker. He served as principal of Goldsboro Junior High School and administrative assitant of Goldsboro City Schools before being named associate director of the Division of Human Relations for the State Department of Public Instruction. Go ahead. You deserve it! The Norfolk & Carolina TetepWolLTolofropk Co. DR. LARNIE G. HORTON Dr. Horton To Address Board At Nags Head Dr. Larnie G. Horton, special assistant to Gov. Holshouser for minority affairs, will address the board of directors of The North Carolina Rural Fund for Development on Saturday at Nags Head. The NC-RFD, headquartered in New Bern, provides technical assistance to some 23 separate low-Income economic development projects throughout 30 counties of Eastern North Carolina. These include agricultural production and marketing associations, fishery cooperatives, and credit unions whose combined membership exceeds 13,000 persons. , Dr. Horton, prior to his present position with the Governor’s office, was president of Kittrell College from 1966- 1973. He rpcieved his Master of Divinity degree from Duke University School of Theology in 1967 and received an honorary doctorate from National Theology Seminary and College in 1969. Dr. Horton has been associated with many professional, civic and educational activities. Among these are: member of the board of trustees of Vance County Technical Institute, member of the board of directors of the National Laboratory for Higher Education, member of the board of directors of Soul City Foundation, and member of the American Association of Higher- Education. The many honors bestowed upon Doctor Horton include: Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, Woodrow Wilson Fellow, Rockefeller Fellow, and Who’s Who in the South and Southwest.
