She wrote: “My purpose in life is to glorify God. How do I do that? First, Lflive the Lord Jesus and second, Feed his Sheep (read John 21:15-17. The first involves being obedient to all He bells me in His Word and by enjoying my relationships with laim. The second is accomplished as I disciple women at the University of Rhode Island and Brown University.—My goal in life is to be all that God wants me to be. Please keep praying for this little sheep.” Since our young people are the hope of our figure, our leaders of tomorrow, with God’s help I’m sure they will find a meaningful purpose for their lives. Sunday dawned bright and beautiful again! Supt. David H. Lapham beamed with joy as he welcomed the many assembled for Sunday School and offered our morning prayer. Supt. Lapham reported that again our* prayer had been answered. Our beloved friend and co-worker, Eleanor Jackson, was released from Chowan Hospital Friday. Though she is still very weak, we are sure that she will be bac|t at Bandon Chapel in her “accustomed” seatnext Sunday, Carlyle “Doc” GiUiam returned to Arrowhead Beach Monday after surgery at Norfolk General Hospital. Supt. Lapham again requested that each church member review the by-lawsand submit suggested additons, deletions or revisions to Mrs. T. Bunting on or before November 30th. —-O We were all saddened to hear that Howard Tise of Noroflk, Va., brother of G. Douglas Tise, has passed away. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to Doug and his family. —O - The Adult Sunday School Class was taught by William F. (Butch) Smith whose subject was “When Moral Values are Disregarded”. The lesson centered around the prophecy of Hosea. It was pointed out that forgiveness is free - men don’t have to work for it, not pay for it, nor suffer for it. All they have to do is repent of wrong-doing and through God’s grace, they receive a full pardon. Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for us all. The Youth Class was taught by Mrs. Fred (Annie) Cooke, whose subject was “Courage to Trust God.” All foe youngsters expressed thanks to God for some blessing they had received during foe past week. This deeply touched Mrs. Cooke. At our worship service at 11:00 A.M., we were delighted to welcome Dr. WJ. B. Livingston “home again. Rev. Glenn Bunch offered our morning prayer of thanksgiving. Dr. Livingston brought us a very forceful and stirring message. His scripture was Psalm 78,. verses 1-11, with particular emphasis on vs. 7,7, &8. He apoke strongly about the hope in God which must be given by this generation to the next, and to those as yet unborn, that they might not forget foe mighty works of God and keep his commandments in order to be happy and receive God’s bounty. He pointed out that there are no depths of despair from which God cannot res cue us if we put our trust in Him. Here are a few words from our beloved pastor: “Sunday evening I am to ’charge foe congregation’ of Trinity Presbyterian Church. Williamsburg, Va. as they install a new pastor. What would you say to a congregation? I have been thinking about that word "charge”. The English language gets a lot of mileage out of a word and this is one that really means many things - from charging your groceries, to a battery, to fighting battle. I think I shall charge them to pray for him, to surround hin wth foe Holy Spirit in order to leave no room in him for the devil or any of his demons so that he will have not only physical health but mental and spiritual vitality. I shall charge them to pay him and I would like to persuade them to pay him separately from all other funds, like using a special envelope for the support of foe ministry or a continued on page 7 Hffl 70 MORE FORL ff^ Pork Chops FRESH FRYERS Po^ oas ' HENS ib.
