Thurg *»y, May 8, 1975 News From Merry Hill By ETHEL WINBORNE Mrs. William White spent from Tuesday through Friday at Greenville with Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Earl Allcox and family. —O—- Born to Mr.' and Mrs. Sherwood Earl Allcox of Greenville on Saturday in a Greenville hospital on April 28, a baby girl, named Melissa Beth. Mrs. Allcox is the former, Miss Peggy White, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William White of Merry Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Martin White and daughter, of Danville, Va. were the guests last weekend of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chesley White. —O— Mr. and Mrs. Owen Barfield spent Friday night with Mr. and -Mrs. Burnice Pridgen of Snow Hill and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs Jim Small on Saturday night at Snow Hill. —©— Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Smithwick were guests Sunday afternoon of Mr. and Mrs. Bob House and children of Harrellsville. —O— Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Phelps spent Sunday in Greenville with* 1 Mrs. Pattie Garris. —°— Mrs. Virgie Baker and Mrs. Julia Smithwick visited Mrs. Odell White of Windsor Tuesday. Birthday Dinner: Mrs. Ethel Winbome was honored at a birthday dinner Sunday at her home here at Merry Hill by Mr. and Mrs. Dennis E. Bowen, Sr. of Windsor, Va. and their children and families - those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bowen, Jr. and Dennis 111 and Anne Woodley Bowen of Chesapeake, Va.; Mr and Mrs. Duffie Porter and son, Duff Greene 111 of Portsmouth,; Mrs. Elaine Goodell and Scott and Stephanie of Norfolk. Saturday afternoon at their regular monthly meeting of the mission action group of Merry Hill Baptist Church, their leader, Mrs. Eugene Phelps and Mrs. Ethel Winbrone were honored for their birthdays - Mrs. Phelps birthday was May 3 ai d Mrs. Winbome May 7 Both were presented gifts and served homemade cake and drinks etc. v Lunch Menus Centralized menus in cafeterias of Edenton-Chowan Schools for the next week include: Friday: Cheeseburger on bun, french fries, catsup, mustard, apple cobbler and milk. Monday: Frankfurter on roll, lima beans, cabbage-carrot salad, cake squares and milk. Tuesday: Beef with vegetables, green beans, fruit cup, bread and milk. Wednesdsay: Bologna and cheese sanffwich, mixed greens, peach cobbler, bread and milk. Thursday: Spaghetti with meat sauce, green pepper slaw, chocolate pudding, orange juice, rolls and milk.
