Curtain time is 7:30 o’clock. Elizabeth remarked, “It’s a different atmosphere. We have never been in a religious play, and we’re working with } a nejjv director and experienced pros.” For the first time t*hey are also performing with their “other” director, Mrs. Sandra Boyce, who they acknowledge as having prepared them well for this new experience. Pat is cast as Naomi, Zebedee’s daughter. Her mother, Ulia, is played by Elizabeth. Both are among those most directly affected by the life and death of Jesus, and are closely associated with Mary, played by Mrs. Boyce. “The play has given me new insight into the life of Jesus,” said Pat. She added that the production is not a sermon, rather it provides a picture of Jesus as a man and his profound influence on family and friends. The dedication of the Fitzgerald’s, they say, and the family like atmosphere of the cast has done much in adding to the success and effectiveness of the production. I want to take this op portunity to repeat my in tention to you personally. We both know that it’s in the nature of things for governors and the media to 'have their share of conflicts and disagreements. But, as I have said before, I’m not going to let that get in the way of having a good professional and personal relationship with you. I believe that die press, radio, and TV did a good job of covering this campaign. I did not like everything, but the coverage was, on the whole, fair and incisive. North Carolina’s tradition of good journalism fared well this year. Over the next four years, in our respective roles, we are both going to be working toward the same goal: making North Carolina a better place. I promise to respect your role. I want this administration to be remembered that way. I am looking forward to working with you over the next four years. Please feel free to call on me and members of my staff at any time. My warmest personal regards. Sincerely, Jim Hunt Smith Takes Society Post GREENVILLE, S.
