may drive only one bus
according to the number
wanting to go. The cost will
be $2.75 to ride the bus. This
does not include lunch.
It is imperative that we

factory, too.
Please let us know if you

PULLET CHAIN —There
is still time to apply for baby
chicks through the 4-H
Pullet Chain. If you would
like a project that your
whole family can benefit
from, the PulletjChain is it.
These pullets , will supply
eggs for'your family, in
addition to have some to sell
to your neighbors or others,
when they reach the laying
cycle. You do not need a
large investment to get
started with this project. If
you are interested please let
us know as the order must
be placed for these checks
by March 20th, and will be
delivered around April 15.
JUNIOR LIVESTOCK
SHOW" •>- The Junior

We will have about the
same number of boys and

as the previous year. The
following is a list of boys and
girls that will be par

mentioned above and-or
planning to participate in
the Livestock Show or have
any questions regarding the

CORN PROJECTS lt
appears that we will have a
good number of corn
projects this year. We will
not help 4-H’ers take soil
THE CHOWAN HERALD
samples except for i-ITers
who are having corn
projects for the first time.
Se reason for this is ex
me cold winter and a
planned March vacation.
We would like to select the
field where you will have
your corn project right
away. If your daddy took
soil samples, try to pick a
field that already has -been
tested for soil requirements.
HEART FUND DRIVE
Chowan 4-H’ers collected
over SSOO for the Heart Fund
Drive during the month of
February. Yeopim Club had
the highest total of $135.00;
second place was Rocky
Hock Club, $94.75. Close
behind was Advance with
$91.08; Oak Grove with
$88.73 and Ryland Senior
Club with $84.89. Other clubs
taking part in the drive were
Pembroke $13.85 and
Ryland, Jr. $20.63.
