Judge John T. Chaffin also found Barclift guilty of failure to stop for a blue light, resisting arrest, no operator’s license and reckless driving. The defendant gave notice of appeal. Charles C. Wilkins of Roper is one of 14 members of the State’s Secondary Roads Council scheduled to attend the council’s May meeting. The Secondary Roads Council will meet in Raleigh May 6 at 10 A.M. in the Board Room of the Highway Building, Wilmington and New Bern streets. The Secondary Roads Council will approve a number of additions and abandonments to North Carolina’s secondary roads system, and, in general, assist the Board of Tran sportation in administering the construction and maintenance of secondary roads throughout the State. Wilkins represents the State’s First Highway Division which encompasses Bertie, Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hertford, Hyde, Martin, Northampton, Tyrrell, Pasquotank, Perquimans, and Washington counties. f wt i E.V. Wilkins Orangutang Circus Feature GO-GO is going places. Any place he wants to go, for GO-GO is a giant red orangutang, with a head two feet long. His arms reach nine feet. And GO-GO is coming to Edenton on May 13 when the American Legion brings Hoxie’s Great American Circus to the fairgrounds for per formances at 6 and 8:15 P.M. The orangutang is one of the rarest creatures on earth. There are less than 2,000 in existance anywhere. Go-Go has been acclaimed the largest orangutang in captivity. He is the only one appearing with any circus in Extension Club April Meeting Held Wednesday The April meeting of the Byrd Home Extension Club was held at 2:30 P.M. April 20 at the home of Mrs. Gladys Smith. There were seven members present. Devotional exercises were held by Mrs. Smith, president. Ruth Overman led the prayer. It was noted that the club will have a concession stand at the Albemarle Crafts man’s Fair and to assist in the activity by preparing food and working at the stand. Instead of having a private booth at Chowan County Fair, the club will assist another club. Mrs. Gladys White gave a demonstration on how to select a pattern and a suitable knit to go with it to get the best results from a finished garment.
