Dail of Hertford, to Mr. Joseph Phillip Long, son of Mr. and Mrs. O.C. Long, Jr., of Edenton, took place May 7 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Long. The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Larry McClure. The couple was married midst a candlelight setting of floral arrangements of white daisies, pink snap dragons, garden roses, white privet and sprigs of mock orange flanked with palms and ferns. The bride entered the living room by way of the stairs which was garlanded with native greenery and ferns and tied ■vith white satin ribbons. Her future husband met her at the foot of the stairs and escorted her to the altar which was banked with native greenery, white roses and candles. The bride wore a gown of white eyelet fashioned with a demure neck line and long sleeves which were trim med with lace. The floor length skirt was accented with a deep ruffle. The gown was designed and fashioned by the brides grandmother, Mrs. James Griffin. She carried a nosegay of white daisies, pink miniature carnations and blue statice nestled in baby’s breath, and Baker’s fern. The wedding flowers were designed by Danny Long, brother of the groom. Miss Judie Dail was her sister’s maid of honor. Mr. Long served as his son’s best man. The mother of the bride chose a green gown and wore a corsage of white daisies. The bridegroom's mother chose a floral gown of green and pink and wore a corsage of white daisies. Immediately following the ceremony the wedding guests were entertained at a reception also at the Long home. After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple returned to their new home on Route 1, Edenton. Ladies'Golf Tournament Held Tuesday Carolyn Jordan of Wind sor was winner of the championship flight in the Roanoke Ladies Golf Association annual tour nament, Tuesday. The event was held at Chowan Golf and Country Club. The association includes members from Edenton, Elizabeth City, Plymouth, Robersonville, Tarboro, Washington, Windsor and Williamston. Tournament winners in the first through sixth flights were respectively, Elizabeth Boom of Elizabeth City, Mary Brown of Plymouth, Harriette Forbes of Robersonville, Inez Schubert of Plymouth, Reva Cobb of Windsor and Margaret Lane of Edenton.
